Yup, it’s true…picked up my two backpacks at the age of 16 and departed the logging camp life of Island Lake in northern Ontario, Canada with Australia on my mind — Destination #1: Launceston, Tasmania.
“Tassie”, as the locals call it, is located 150 miles (240 km) south of the Australian mainland. The island is full of natural beauty everywhere…the people, the kindest I have ever met.
