I rode up to Milwaukee often while living and working out of Chicago in the mid ’90s. Great city with great people this town… Let me share with you one of my favorite riding destinations in all of Wisconsin…The North Point Lighthouse.
There’s something magical about old lighthouses.

The North Point Lighthouse is located in Lake Park. It was originally built in 1851, placed on the National Register of Historic Lighthouses in 1984 and taken out of commission by the U.S. Coast Guard in 1994. A complete tower restoration was completed in 2006. Today, the North Point Lighthouse and the Keepers Quarters are totally restored and providing locals and visitors with many a good memory of a time gone by when mariner’s lives depended on that light in that lighthouse.
One proud Milwaukee local loves the Lighthouse too. He even drew it on a little card for all to enjoy. Â

Doug’s Card of the North Point Lighthouse and Keepers Quarters.
Doug has a new card under drawing construction being prepared for sale around the 110th Anniversary weekend.  I love it! It’s got a bit of an old style edge to it and it’s even a little quirky. Simply charming you could say.
